When a Home Remedy Might Do:

Sometimes you might think your AC system needs emergency treatment, when in fact all it really needs is a little TLC. If you check these things before you call the Doc, you save both time and money:

  • Need a spark in life? If your AC doesn't have power it can't run. Make sure your "SYSTEM SWITCH" is set to "ON". Also, make sure the circuit breaker has not tripped.
  • A Bit of a Fever: Your thermostat measures air temperature and tell the ac when to run. Make sure your thermostat is "ON", is set to "COOL", and the desired room temperature is set lower than the current ambient temperature. If your thermostat is equipped with a battery, change it now.

Emergency AC Service

If you call us, we'll dispatch a professional AC tech. If it's an emergency we offer night and weekend service. Our top-rated, licensed and insured AC techs offer air conditioning service for all major brands including Armstrong, Bryant, Carrier, Goodman, Lennox, Trane, and York. Common AC service issues include:

  • AC system is not working at all. It appears to have power, but nothing at all happens when turned on for cooling
No power to the unit, caused by a tricked breaker or fuse.
A failed component like a transformer, contractor, capacitor or compressor.
  • Air conditioner tries to start but drops out shortly within a few minutes of starting * An obstructed indoor or outdoor coil, or iced up indoor coil.
Improper grounding of the indoor unit.
Problem with the indoor or outdoor blower motor.
Problem with the thermostat or T-stat batteries.
  • Air conditioning runs, but the system is not cooling as well as in the past:
Dirty filters and lack of maintenance. This would cause inconsistent temperature or wide temperature swings, unusual blower noise, or rapid cycling.
Mechanical damage or loss of refrigerant charge.

If we find your AC system needs major repairs, or if it's is more than 12 years old, we'll likely recommend you consider a new Amana air conditioner. Click here for more details.
